Naples Fishing Report: March 4,2009

February 25th, 2009 |

The fishing was great off Naples this past weekend. We anchored over a wreck offshore and caught big Amberjacks along with plenty of big mangrove snappers, some that were 5 pounds. We had an unexpected visitor as well. A big Mako shark around 7 – 8 feet came up to the boat and actually tried to take a bite out of my starboard engine. I hurriedly tied a wire leader to try and catch him but unfortunately he was gone as quickly as he appeared and never showed again, but what an awesome sight.

till next time, keep it fishy.

Fishing Report: November 17, 2008

The weather has been a bit unpredictable the last couple of weeks with only a handful of days that we could get out. This is transitional time of year as the waters start to cool. The Red Grouper move farther offshore and the Gags move in closer. The Kingfish start to show up on all of the hard bottom areas and wrecks and ledges as well. The Spanish Mackeral get pretty thick anywhere from along the beach to offshore and make great light tackle fishing. The Mangrove snapper congregate in big numbers over structure and ledges and can be chummed up behind the boat and there are still a few Cobia around. All in all it’s a great time to go fishing as long as the weather permits so give me a call and lets go fishing.Till next time, keep it Fishy
